# Can I upgrade my annual subscription?

You can upgrade from one annual subscription to another annual subscription, but you can't upgrade from an annual subscription to a monthly subscription.

When upgrading your annual subscription, here's what happens:

- If you have enabled usage based billing (legacy subscriptions only), and incurred a charge, this will be billed when you upgrade.
- You will receive a prorated discount on your new plan. This discount is based on the unused months of your current plan, minus the two free months included in the annual subscription price.
- You will be charged the full cost of your new annual plan, which also includes two free months, minus the prorated discount from your previous plan.
- Your new annual subscription will begin immediately, resetting your billing cycle. It will automatically renew a year later unless cancelled. If you do cancel, the cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
