# How does Voice Chat in ElevenReader work?

Voice Chat in ElevenReader is currently a beta feature, which means it’s still being tested and improved. You may notice it occasionally behaves unexpectedly or makes mistakes. We’re continually refining the experience based on user feedback.

Voice Chat may also reference source material from your current reading to provide more helpful and context-aware conversations. These materials remain completely private; they are not shared outside of your device or ElevenLabs systems.

Each time you interact with Voice Chat, you consent to the recording, storage, and sharing of your communications with third-party service providers, as necessary to provide and improve voice interaction features, in accordance with our [Privacy Policy](https://elevenlabs.io/privacy). If you do not wish to have your conversations recorded, please refrain from using this feature.
