What are Legacy voices?

Legacy voices are former Default voices that do not meet our current quality standard. They have been fully deprecated and removed from all products.

While we understand this change may be disruptive, we have replaced Legacy voices with new, higher quality voices that will remain available in perpetuity.

If you use the API, Legacy voice IDs will automatically route to their replacement voice IDs.

While we have replaced Legacy voices with similar voices, the new options may differ slightly in tone and style. We encourage you to explore additional options using these tools:

  : edit an existing voice’s style and tone using our best practices guide.

• Instant Voice Clone

  : clone a voice using as little as 10 seconds of audio.

• Professional Voice Clone

• Voice Library

  : choose from a collection of Professional Voice Clones shared by the ElevenLabs community. You can also search the library using an audio or video clip to find similar voices.
