What is Voice Design?

Voice Design lets you create a unique voice from a text prompt.

It’s designed to help when you can’t find the exact voice you need in our Voice Library. Instead of choosing from existing options, you can now generate a custom voice by describing it in your own words.

To get started, just type a prompt describing the voice you want. You can include details like accent, gender, pacing, tone, and speaking style. The more specific your prompt, the more closely the voice will match your intent. But if you're unsure, a simple prompt like "a calm male narrator" also works.

Voices created with Voice Design work with Eleven v4, our latest model, and with earlier models including Eleven v3. They support audio tags. On Eleven v4 they may be less performative than on earlier models.

Note: Voice Design is still experimental. Professional Voice Clones offer the highest quality and consistency. If you find a PVC that fits your needs, we recommend using it. Professional Voice Clones are fully supported on Eleven v4. They are not fully optimized for Eleven v3.
