Overview
Section titled “Overview”Tools allow ElevenLabs agents to perform actions beyond generating text responses. They enable agents to interact with external systems, execute custom logic, or access specific functionalities during a conversation. This allows for richer, more capable interactions tailored to specific use cases.
ElevenLabs Agents supports the following kinds of tools:
Client Tools
Tools executed directly on the client-side application (e.g., web browser, mobile app).
Webhook tools
Custom tools that call external APIs through webhooks.
Code Tools
Custom JavaScript executed in a sandboxed environment on ElevenLabs’ infrastructure.
MCP Tools
Model Context Protocol servers that provide tools and resources to agents.
System Tools
Built-in tools provided by the platform for common actions.
